According to the memorandum of understanding between SOS Children's Villages Syria and DHL, a group of the company’s professional trainers conducted a seven-day training course for the fourth consecutive year. The training targeted 12 boys and girls in the semi-independent stage.

With love and appreciation, a ceremony has been held in SOS Children's Villages Qudsaya to honor Mama Salam and Luma, alternative caregivers, with the ring of Honor. The board of Directors of SOS Children's Villages Syria attended, besides the presence of Dr. Kay Vorwerk, President of the Hermann Gmeiner Academy, who has joined via Skype.

Areej found her path to success

19-year-old Areej was one of the first children who joined SOS interim care centres in 2014. Areej moved from the Syrian centre for girls with abuse and violence experiences to SOS Children’s Villages upon her request after she met SOS team at the centre during their visit. Areej lost her parental care and went through difficult events in her life which included displacement and the risk of early child marriage. However, she was very strong that she fought for her right to be a child.
