Emergency Response: Supporting Displaced Families in Herjalleh

In the continued effort of SOS Syria’s Emergency Response in collaboration with Souria Btjmana, SOS distributed more than 200 household electric laser cookers to the displaced Syrians and Lebanese coming from Lebanon and taking shelter in Herjalleh Area in the aim of facilitating cooking and helping mitigate the difficult situation of the displaced, as we stand by each other’s side to overcome this hardship.

Due to the extraordinary and sad events happening in the region, SOS Children’s Villages Syria launched an Emergency Response initiative that began with quick distribution missions to meet the urgent needs of water and dates to the displaced Syrians and Lebanese coming from Lebanon and entering the Syrian borders in Al-Masnaa Area. The initiative is in collaboration with Souria Btjmana Foundation, to whom we are thankful for their continuous support.

As one of the young people that grew up in SOS Syria’s care, Zain, 21, is a genuine example of excellence and hard work. As he grew up, Zain moved through all the stages of care at SOS Children's Villages Syria, transitioning from childcare to youth care, and later began his journey towards full independence in 2021.

Youth Care Program offers Semi-Independent Living service (SIL) to support transition to independent life for young people above 18 years old

Semi-Independent Living is the second service provided in the Youth Care Program. It targets young people in the transitional stage of moving from alternative care environment to their own independent life.
